Elyssa (Pastoral and Intervention Lead)

Hi I'm Elyssa and I'm excited to be joining the team at The Fusion Academy as the new Pastoral and Intervention Lead.
I have worked both in schools and services to support children and young people with autism and I really enjoy finding engaging and creative ways to support each person achieve their goals.
In my spare time I enjoy being outside in the sunshine, watching sports and television and I especially enjoy day trips visiting new places.
I'm very much looking forward to joining this exciting new school and to meeting the team and our new students.

Jan (Senior Teaching Assistant)

I've been a Teaching Assistant at a secondary school working with SEN students for several years and previous to this I delivered after school maths clubs around Leicestershire and surrounding counties. I love engaging students in learning in a fun and creative way.

In my spare time I take part in amateur dramatics and will often appear on stage. I also enjoy walking my dog and I love escaping into a good book.

I am so excited to be part of The Fusion Academy and I'm looking forward to building relationships with our pupils that can help them reach their true potential.

Annabelle (Senior Teaching Assistant)

I’ve been working for the NHS for the last 2 years and before this I have worked in multiple jobs including some time spent in a secondary school art class and even down to preschool nursery!

In my spare time I love to cook, draw and spend time with my family. We love going on mini adventures and exploring new places. My step sons keep me on my toes!

I hope my positive energy and creative thinking will help all the new students at The Fusion Academy feel settled and happy.

Kristi (Senior Teaching Assistant)

Since gaining my degree in Dance, Performance & Teaching, I have had the pleasure of working with a huge variety of children, in both community and educational settings. My students’ well-being is always at the heart of my practice, and I enjoy finding creative solutions to ensure that activities are inclusive and enjoyable.

In my spare time I enjoy exercising, attending live music and theatre performances, and experimenting with new food (both cooking and eating!) I am also a keen traveller and love visiting new places around the world, discovering different cultures and experiencing their ways of life.

I am thrilled to be joining the team at The Fusion Academy. I am really looking forward to seeing how we can work together to support and encourage our young people in reaching their full potential.

Hilary (Senior Teaching Assistant)

I have worked in Primary schools for about 20 years now first as a Teaching and Learning Support Assistant and then as an HLTA. I have spent some time working with young people with autism and really enjoy helping them to learn, grow and achieve their ambitions.

In my spare time I enjoy singing, reading or listening to books and watching films and TV. I like to do Yoga as it is very relaxing and love going for walks in the countryside. I also really enjoy cooking and baking.

I am really looking forward to joining The Fusion Academy and being a part of this new venture as it grows and develops over the years. I am particularly looking forward to meeting all the students and helping them to settle into their new and exciting environment.

Nicki (Learning Support Assistant)

Hi I am Nicki and I am excited to be joining the brand new team at the new Fusion Academy, as a learning Support Assistant. I have worked as a Learning Support Assistant for the past 10 years in a MLD/SEN unit.

In my spare time, I love to go to dance fitness classes, especially Bollywood dancing and recently I have taken up Rock n Roll. I also enjoy going to my exercise class; hopefully it will back up and running again soon. I enjoy going out on my bike, doing crafts, cartoon drawing, colouring and meeting up with friends.

I love animals and at home we have a cheeky Chinchilla called Storm, Guinea Pigs (my two are called Peanut & Popcorn) and a Westie called Mac. I also like pottering in the garden.

I am looking forward to meeting the team and the students in this exciting new adventure and striving to be the best we can be.

Laura C (Learning Support Assistant)

I am a recent psychology graduate, with an interest in child development and behaviour.

I’m a creative person who enjoys drawing and painting in my spare time. I have worked as a play worker for 6 years, where I often designed and led crafting and sports activities with children of all ages and abilities. I also enjoy being active outside and have a love of animals and plants.

I am very excited to start work at The Fusion Academy and am keen to meet the new students and staff. I aim to tailor my support to each individual student, to bring out the very best in their abilities.

Donna (Learning Support Assistant)

Hello! I’m Donna, I’ll be one of the Learning Support Assistants. I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you in the new term! Here’s a little bit about me...

My favourite place to be is at the beach, even on a rainy day! We have a small caravan close to the coast and try to go there most weekends.

I love anything crafty and arty, and like to try my hand at most things where I can be creative.

I also like to spend lots of time outside, and go on walks as often as possible, my two crazy dogs love a bit of mud!

I’m friendly, chatty, and a great listener. I’m really excited for us all to start on our new adventure together at The Fusion Academy.
